Liberty Insurance Co., Ltd., the China-based wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, opened a Jet Claim Drive-in Center in Beijing on December 22, its second such center in China well after that in Chongqing.
The dirve-in center can respond to claims quickely and let automobile owners have freedom to decide where and when to repair their automobiles. The center will make loss assessment and settlement according to the standard prices for original spare parts at auto 4S shops.
This move marks the insurer's latest efforts to tap China's automobile insurance sector. The company plans to open another one in Hangzhou city next year.
In recent years, many insurance companies in China including Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. are taking various measures for rapid claims.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, headquartered in Boston MA USA, set up a branch in Chongqing in 2003, becoming the first foreign insurer entering West China. The Chongqing branch was upgraded into a wholly owned subsidiary in July 2007 and was renamed Liberty Insurance.
