Zurich Global Corporate appointed CEO Mario Vitale honoree

Zurich, a leading general insurance provider in North America and around the world, announced Mario Vitale, CEO of Zurich Financial Services division of Global Corporate Affairs was selected honoree of the year by The Chinese American Insurance Association (IACA). Vitale will also accept the title sponsorship Award 2009 in Zurich for the 18th Annual Chinese New Year banquet celebrating the Year of the Ox February 26, 2009.
The ICAA was founded in 1990, works to unite the Chinese community and American insurance companies and agents through educational programs and other activities. The ICAA presents its title sponsorship at a price that is determined to help the association to support the mission of providing information, resources and continuing education classes for more than 700 members of numerous insurance organizations established brokerage houses and persons domiciled mainly in the north.

The ICAA Board of Directors appoints and selects the honoree by reviewing the senior executives of U.S. engagement of Chinese insurance industry, as well as consideration of the person on the following criteria:
1) Leadership in the insurance sector,
2) the achievements of their leadership, and
3) Contributions to the insurance industry as a whole.
"Mario's reputation, the level of active participation and leadership in the international community the assurance made him the best candidate to receive this prestigious honor," said George Tsui, ICAA banquet chairman and former president. "I have known Mario for years. From his days at The Home Insurance Company, the broker in the world and now the head of Global Corporate business in Zurich, he became a leader in the insurance industry. "
Vitale joined Zurich in October 2006 as CEO of Global Corporate in North America. In November 2008 he was appointed CEO of Global Corporate. Vitale is also a member of Zurich Group Management Board.
Vitale joins Zurich from Willis Group Holdings, where he was CEO of Willis North America and a member of Willis Group Executive Committee and the Office of the President. After graduating from St. John's College of Insurance in 1977, Vitale started his professional career at The Home Insurance Company, followed by 30 years of global experience in the insurance industry positions direction.
