Conference attendees will learn from leading industry experts on how to meet the core challenges of compliance with state laws and regulations, while upholding the highest standards of business conduct and ethics in the life settlement industry. Selected presentations will be filed for Continuing Legal Education credits. The event will also feature panel discussions, an exhibitor marketplace and a networking luncheon.
The conference is open to LISA members and non-members alike. This two-day event will be held at the luxurious Peabody Orlando hotel in the heart of the city's entertainment district.
"We understand that businesses are cutting back in certain areas. However, the existing laws and compliance-related issues in our industry have continued to change while new ones have emerged," says Daniel Harris, Director of Government Affairs for LISA. "The need to pay attention to these types of issues has not waned; it's increased. Last year, we were able to provide our attendees with the most recent information on compliance issues in the life settlement industry. This year, our focus remains on educating our attendees by providing the most up to date information, delivered by the foremost experts in the industry."
Attendees at last year's compliance conference applauded LISA's initiative and expressed a hope to see similar events to come. "It is difficult to be able to handle the many compliance and regulatory issues this Industry faces on an ongoing basis," says Jennifer Stabile, Compliance Director of Life Asset Group LLC, a settlement broker based in Miami, FL. "This conference was a great review of my duties as a compliance director, as well as a source for new ideas from each of the topics presented to implement LAG's compliance program. I also was very impressed with the sharing of information while networking with some of the most experienced persons in the industry."
