Medical researchers say that patients are wary of a potentially life-saving tests for a gene that poses a higher bowel cancer risk, due to the perceived impact on life insurance cover. Early detection and treatment are vital in fighting bowel cancer, but the study found that as many a half of all people offered the test refused it.
