Christopher J. Littlefield has been named chief executive officer of Aviva USA effective immediately. Littlefield was the chief operating officer of the company, a provider of fixed-indexed annuity and life insurance products.
Littlefield will report to Thomas C. Godlasky, CEO for Aviva North America. In a statement, Godlasky said Littlefield "was a critical member of the team that managed the acquisition of AmerUs by Aviva plc in 2006 and ensured its smooth transition." Littlefield also "helped guide Aviva North America's Life and Annuity business to an industry leadership position during historically challenging market conditions," Godlasky added.
Littlefield joined AmerUs Group in January 2006 as executive vice president and was promoted to COO for Aviva USA in February.
Prior to AmerUs, Littlefield held a number of management positions with the Dial Corp. in Scottsdale, Ariz., including senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.
