John Kitson, sales and marketing director for Aviva's U.K. nonlife business, will leave the company in March 2010.

Kitson, who has been with Aviva for 14 years, has dealt with broker-generated and direct business and with partnerships.

Kitson said he plans to leave the insurance business to "go fishing, write a book, go to Norwich City FC [Football Club] away games, and take stock."

Igal Mayer, chief executive of Aviva's U.K. nonlife business, said in a statement that the company is planning long-term changes in its sales and marketing operation.

Kitson's successor will be announced in due course to ensure an orderly transition, Aviva said. Janice Deakin will continue as corporate sales director until March 2010, when her current role will cease and she will take on a new role.

Units of Aviva have current Best's Financial Strength Ratings of A (Excellent).
