Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has named Tom Bauer as its new senior vice president and chief information officer. He has served as interim chief information officer during the past three months.

Mr Bauer joined Allianz in 2003 as vice president of customer services, and subsequently led application and infrastructure services. He started his career with Electronic Data Systems, and spent 10 years with Chrysler Corporation. Most recently, he served as a director with Best Buy.

Walter White, Allianz's chief administrative officer, said: "Tom will continue leading the company's investment in technology, which is a key priority for Allianz Life. He is driving great momentum within the IT organization and identifying new ways for IT to propel business results."
