Sun Life Financial Names CFO

Canada's Sun Life Financial Inc. named Colm Freyne as its chief financial officer and executive vice president. He held the CFO post on an interim basis since July 1.
Freyne was named interim CFO earlier this year following the resignation of Richard P. McKenney, who was named CFO and executive vice president at U.S.-based disability insurer Unum Group (BestWire, June 23, 2009).
Previously, Freyne was senior vice president and controller and has been with Sun Life (NYSE/TSX: SLF) since 2003.
Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada currently has a Best's Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior).
