Edelweiss Capital to form life insurance joint venture with Tokio Marine Holdings

Edelweiss Capital is an India-based provider of investment banking, stock broking, wealth management and asset management services, while Tokio Marine is a Japan-based provider of property and casualty insurance, reinsurance and life insurance services.
Rumor (August 10, 2009):
According to The Economic Times, industry sources reported that Edelweiss Capital is in talks with Tokio Marine for a possible life insurance joint venture in India.
Reportedly, Ernst & Young is acting as financial advisor to Tokio Marine on their India strategy.
