Valiant Establishes Surplus Lines Company

NEW YORK

Valiant Insurance Group has established Valiant Specialty Insurance Co. to serve as the excess and surplus lines insurance carrier for Valiant's U.S. operations, the company said.

Valiant currently offers surplus lines capability to clients in a majority of states, and will seek additional state surplus lines eligibility for Valiant Specialty, the New York-based company said in a statement.

Valiant Insurance Group provides specialty property/casualty insurance products and services to the U.S. agency and brokerage market through Valiant Insurance Co. and Valiant Specialty.

Valiant Insurance Group is a subsidiary of Ariel Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance company. Ariel acquired Valiant as a platform to operate as an admitted insurer in the U.S. specialty market (BestWire, Sept. 24, 2007).

Valiant Specialty Insurance Co. and Valiant Insurance Co. currently have Best's Financial Strength Ratings of A- (Excellent).
