MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A former executive at General Casualty Insurance in Sun Prairie is accused of stealing more than $500,000 from the company over several years.
A federal grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday charging Douglas Nickerson with misappropriating funds.
The indictment says Nickerson concealed fraudulent payments totaling $823,000 to three companies, who were told to keep a portion of the money and give him the rest. The indictment says Nickerson pocketed an estimated $564,000.
Nickerson was General Casualty's property program manager during the alleged scheme, which lasted from 2003 to last year.
One businessman has also been charged with aiding and abetting. The investigation continues.
