Insurance Department employees and all media are invited to tour the MCC. MCC driver, Verdean Glenn will conduct tours.
"We are excited to bring one of our MCC's to the insurance department," noted Dana Russell, Kansas Farmers State Executive Director. "The claims bus is part of a nationwide fleet of MCC's and 39 smaller vehicles called Customer Care Vehicles (CCV), that are deployed immediately to the site of a disaster that may occur in Kansas or anywhere in the country. The MCC was first on the scene at the Greensburg tornado in 2007 to help customers and non-customers with claims and necessities," she said.
"The MCC is the catastrophe center-point for handling claims and servicing our customers," explained Russell. "It is equipped with the most state-of-the-art communications equipment available anywhere in the United States. It enables Farmers claims representatives to offer claims help to our customers immediately following a catastrophe. It also has supplies and food for customers and non-customers alike at disasters."
The MCC is the only diesel powered bus in the Insurance industry with built-in data satellite on top to service customers. It is also equipped with various advanced technology such as built-in GPS navigation, security / safety system, noise-reduction generator, and in-motion satellite TV which allows MCC personnel to track inclement weather events and urgent news reports when all other forms of communication are unavailable due to catastrophic events.
