Despite the downturn in the economy, the multibillion dollar global insurance brokerage business held steady, for the most part, in terms of brokerage revenues in 2008. Best?s Review?s annual Top Global Insurance Broker ranking reports Aon Corp. as the No. 1 global broker with $6.2 billion in brokerage revenues. No. 2 is Marsh Inc. with $4.5 billion in brokerage revenues. Rounding out the top five are Willis Group Holdings Ltd., Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc.
The article contains mini-profiles of each of the top 20 global insurance brokers featuring their brokerage and total revenues and their strategies for 2009 and 2010.
This is the fourth year Best?s Review has published the ranking and the first year brokers are ranked solely on their brokerage revenues.
Also in the August issue, Best?s Review is proud to present its ?Standing the Test of Time? series. Our cover story recognizes 55 property/casualty and 14 life/health companies that have maintained a Best?s Financial Strength Rating of A or higher for 75 years. The cover story also features nine mini-profiles of these distinguished companies.
