Catlin Acquires D&O and Professional Liability Renewal Rights from Bennett

International property/casualty insurer Catlin Group Ltd. has acquired the renewal rights to the directors & officers liability and professional indemnity business of specialty insurer Bennett Underwriting Agencies Ltd.

The two organizations have an established relationship. In recent years Bennett, which is based in Hertfordshire, near London, has acted as a coverholder for Catlin UK. Bennett was established in 1998.

Catlin, headquartered in Bermuda, has appointed Richard Bennett, founder and managing director of Bennett Underwriting, as regional professional indemnity manager. Bennett Underwriting?s office will be absorbed into the Catlin group?s U.K. regional network.

Richard Clapham, underwriting director for Catlin UK, said in a statement that he looks ?forward to working more closely with Richard Bennett and his team to strengthen Catlin s position in the U.K. regional professional indemnity market.?

Units of Catlin have current Best?s Financial Strength Ratings of A (Excellent).
