AIG Names Harvey Golub As Non-executive Chairman Of Its Board

The board of directors of insurance and financial services company American International Group Inc (AIG) (NYSE:AIG) disclosed on Thursday that director Harvey Golub will take over from retiring chairman and CEO Edward M. Liddy as non-executive chairman of the board.

This appointment is effective from 10 August 2009.

A director of AIG since May 2009, Golub was chairman and CEO of American Express Company from 1993 to 2001.

He additionally serves as the non-executive chairman of Ripplewood Holdings; a director of Campbell Soup Company, formerly its non-executive chairman; non-executive chairman of The Reader's Digest Association's board; and a director of RHJ International, a public investment company based in Belgium.
