Wylene Simmons, 37, billed Medicaid for services that she did not provide, according to Victoria Heller of the attorney general's communications office.
Investigators found she billed Medicaid for 10 deliveries that she did not assist in or perform, and believe she frequently billed for delivering Medicaid recipients' babies months before the babies were born, according to Heller.
Simmons was arrested last weekend and has been charged with one count of grand theft and one count of Medicaid fraud.
If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution.
