Nation's Leading Expert warns against purchasing additional insurance Conseco ONTARIO, California, February 23
ONTARIO, California, February 23 / PRNewswire / - Less than 90 days after the abandonment of seniors in America, insurance Conseco came out with a "white paper" to encourage people to buy insurance policies complementary, says Frank N. Darras, the nation of disability and long-term care insurance lawyer.
Darras warns against purchasing a supplemental policy from Conseco. In 2008 alone, Conseco has been investigated, charged and fined $ 32 million for not treating long-term care claims in a timely manner, do not properly maintain or document files and claims too long to respond applicants.
In addition, when the state of 40 at Conseco settlement was reached with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance Commissioner Joel Ario said the action is "necessary because of a pattern of consumption in the wrong business long-term care insurance, "says Darras.
In August 2008, without notice to its policyholders, Conseco moved nearly 171,000 long-term care payment of premiums for seniors in a self-insurance senior decreasing confidence and lose its value as more and more seniors wondered, says Darras. See www.savemyltc.com.
"Conseco has for years, under-valued and strong long-term care products. When long-term care has begun to lose money, Conseco has agreed to use a loophole in insurance law and Pennsylvania faithful dump provided in this trust. The way it was structured establishes the elderly on fixed incomes to pay more premium increases, they can not afford. Many elderly people will be forced expiration their policies after spending tens of thousands of dollars for this insurance, "says Darras.
Unfortunately, the mission of the company, said the site was not compatible with the treatment of policyholders. Conseco's mission says, "to be a leading provider of financial security for life, health and retirement needs of middle market Americans." America's seniors have been duped and dumped by a new company whose slogan is "strengthening," says Darras
"In many cases, insurance is a good bet and can be affordable for many families," says Darras. "I always advise people to make sound decisions and to research the history and the financial health of a company before buying insurance. Why spend your hard earned premium dollars to a company which has failed to "step up" when it matters most? "
