Brits will take full holiday entitlement | Travel Insurance

More than half of all British workers will not be reducing their travel insurance spend this summer, as they plan on taking their full holiday entitlement.

A survey by the online travel provider Expedia.co.uk has disclosed that 60 per cent of employees will be using their entire holiday allocation, despite the continuing uncertain economic climate.

During this time away from the workplace, the organisation also revealed that European destinations are becoming increasingly popular get-away locations, thanks to their relatively low cost.

Jonathan Cudworth, head of product marketing at Expedia.co.uk, claimed that time spent away form the office can improve employee productivity.

He said: "Now more than ever it is important to take time out - even if it is just for a few days - to recharge the batteries, re-evaluate priorities and spend time with family and friends."

Last month, the holiday company Gap Year for Grown Ups claimed that employees are being allowed to take out backpacking travel insurance and take a sabbatical while the recession runs its course.ADNFCR-1320-ID-19140658-ADNFCR
