Travel insurance news: 28% are bargain holiday hunters

Some 28 per cent of consumers described themselves as bargain hunters when it comes to a holiday, a new survey has found.
The poll by Skyscanner discovered that the difficult economic climate seems to be making Brits more laid-back and flexible when booking getaways.
Bargain hunters said they did not mind where they went as long as the price was "right", while 23 per cent were happy to fly anywhere at any time.
Only 16 per cent had confirmed and fixed travel plans. The research did not investigate travel insurance trends but it is likely that Brits who want to safeguard themselves from a hospital or luggage bill will take out a policy.
Barry Smith is co-founder and director of Skyscanner. He said the recession was turning people into "adventurers".
"More of us are now happy to take our holidays when and where we can find the best value. Brits have become more flexible and open to new destinations," he explained.
