Yes!  The truth is that accidents and unforeseenevents can happen at any time anywhere in the world. You might be inclined to think that it will not happen, but it can never hurt to be prepared for the unknown.  Purchasing travel insurance for a cruise is a good idea but finding the right insurance options can be a challenge because the coverage options can often be confusing.
 
What your insurance will need to cover are the following areas:  First and most importantly, travel insurance should protect your health and well-being during or after the Cruise. The right package can insure coverage on trip cancellation or interruption, emergency dental or medial benefits, travel accident insurance, medical transportation, stolen baggage or baggage delay claims, delays in your travel schedule, accidental death, and a hotline for emergency assistance to name a few.

Do the homework, and look at each component of the proposed coverage to make sure you will actually need it.  It is possible that you might already have a comprehensive insurance policy in effect that covers what you will need on your trip.  As an example: Check your homeowner's policy to see if lost bags are covered. Additionally, check with the cruise line to see what their policy is. Car rental coverage may already be in effect through your own personal car insurance plan.   As mentioned before, homework is the key!
