Kalona Iowa City Council Inaction on Flood Insurance

Kalona, IA City Council Meeting (April 6, 2009) -- Again, no genuine consideration is given to Kalona's participation in the NFIP, National Flood Insurance Program. No citizen can purchase flood insurance without the City's participation.

Public Forum: Local resident, Karen Burton, asks whether the Council has plans to consider participation in the NFIP -- it tabled such consideration in July 2008. Again, they "kicked the can down the road".
